Privacy Policy

SquadCheck (squadcheck.xyz) is an independent project run by one individual, who is responsible for the personal data described here and can be reached at yubagy3@gmail.com.

You do not need an account to use SquadCheck. When you browse:

• our hosting provider, Vercel, records standard request logs — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — to run the service and protect it from abuse;
• Google Analytics records how the site is used (see Analytics);
• Google AdSense may set cookies to show and measure ads (see Advertising);
• player photos and club badges load directly from the Premier League’s image servers, which receive your IP address as they would for any image request;
• two preference cookies remember your theme and your language.

Signing in is optional. It lets you keep a watchlist of players. You can sign in with Google, or with a one-time link sent to your email address. We store:

• your email address;
• if you sign in with Google: the name and profile picture Google provides, your Google account identifier, and the sign-in tokens Google issues;
• the players on your watchlist;
• your language preference, your account tier and when the account was created.

We use this only to sign you in and show your watchlist. The only email SquadCheck sends is the sign-in link you ask for — no newsletters, no marketing. We do not sell account data or share it with anyone for their own purposes.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site works without them, except that you will be signed out and your theme and language will reset.

SquadCheck uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. How Google uses information from sites that use its services explains what Google does with this data.

Where European law requires consent for advertising cookies — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — a consent message from Google appears before ads are personalised, and records the choice you make. You can reopen it and change that choice through the privacy link the message leaves on the page. Visitors outside those countries do not see the message, and ads are shown under the settings described above.

SquadCheck uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are used and how people find them: pages viewed, time on page, the referring site, device type, browser and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. A few actions are recorded as events — starting a sign-in (with the method, Google or email) and adding or removing a watchlist player — and your email address is never sent to Analytics. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.

These providers are based outside Korea, the UK and the EU, so using SquadCheck — and especially creating an account — means your data is transferred to and stored in those countries. Each provider processes it under its own terms, only to provide the service described.

• Account data, including your watchlist: until you ask us to delete the account. We delete it within 30 days of the request.
• Sign-in links: they expire 24 hours after they are sent.
• Hosting request logs: kept briefly by Vercel under its own retention policy.
• Analytics data: at most 14 months.

You can ask to see the data held about your account, to have it corrected, or to have the account and everything attached to it deleted. Email yubagy3@gmail.com from the address you sign in with, so we can confirm the account is yours. We answer within 30 days, free of charge. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

SquadCheck is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects account holders will be described on this page.
